This is a report on the remote installation of an AFS 152 and AFS 153. The main benefit of this air filter test system is to determine the quality of HEPA and ULPA air filters in relation to the specifications of ISO 29463-4 (EN 1822-4) and ISO 29463-5 (EN 1822-5) production.
Topas gives the option of on-site installation with training of personnel with in-house technicians when selling its equipment. As a second option, Trox has chosen the so-called remote installation.

Intro
The AFS 152 can be used to determine the quality of HEPA and ULPA filters. At the end of September 2022, I was at Trox in Curitiba, Brazil, to perform a remote installation together with colleagues from TOPAS GmbH.
TROX is a leader in the development, manufacture and distribution of components, equipment and systems for air conditioning and ventilation worldwide.

Process and preparations of the installation at TROX
I have been working in market development as a reseller for TOPAS products in Brazil since February 2021. I have acquired a lot of knowledge since then.
Everyone has been aware of this and I have received valuable help from the people at Trox as well as from the colleagues at TOPAS.
After the order was finally placed by TROX, the first thing TOPAS did was to manufacture the AFS 152 and the AFS 153. All the necessary equipment was assembled and checked for proper functioning. In this process, the user manual was also updated.
I had the opportunity to get to know the test stand in regular on-site training sessions at Topas. Like this, I learned the first basics about how to use the test stand. This training was the cornerstone for the later installation at TROX.
Between the start of summer and the end of autumn, the preparations of course went on very purposefully. First of all, the units had to be packed and shipped. Then we already followed the container ship online on the Brazilian side and eagerly awaited its arrival in the port of Paranaguá in the state of Paraná.
Meanwhile, we prepared the installation by making sure we had all crucial tools available. There were also a few updates to the user manual.
After the containers arrived in the port of Paranaguá, it took about another month for the Brazilian customs to release the equipment. Then finally, in the end of autumn, two large crates were at the Trox factory in Curitiba.
The assembly and installation at TROX
We agreed in advance on the dates to carry out the set-up and installation of the AFS 152 and AFS 153 with the responsible persons at Trox.
After some overtime and half an additional day, all the devices were in place and the functions were trained, so that the operators can now use the devices without any doubt and on their own responsibility.
The reception and cooperation at Trox was always very friendly. Everyone was very attentive.

On the first day of installation, we were faced with two huge and unopened boxes, so we started from scratch. The Topas unpacking manual helped a lot. Hosing and attaching the compressed air also took a little time.
The colleagues from Topas provided us with an excellent remote-contact online.
Step by step, we started testing the functions, trying them out and learning. Basically, I received instructions from the Topas colleagues on the headphones and passed them on to the Topas staff.
In the afternoon, the TROX people and I were alone with the installation and testing of the individual functions. Everyone had an extreme hunger to learn and wanted to get to know all the functions even before the official briefings. I was very impressed by this curiosity, efficiency and the will to create came to the fore here.
On the second day, we met very early in order to clarify the questions that had arisen from the previous day and to prepare the equipment for the upcoming briefing.
Conclusion
On the last day, before noon, we could say that we had trained the people from TROX together so that they could now continue on their own.
There was a final meeting with the people in charge from TROX with a small presentation about the functions of the Topas units.
The TROX managers then signed a SAT (Site Acceptance Test Protocol) to confirm that the installation and training had been fully completed.
We hope that the devices will serve TROX very well.
We are always open for questions and assistance and wish TROX Brasil much success!
